FamilySearch providing YouTube genealogy videos

SALT LAKE CITY — It was only a matter of time before genealogy-related videos hit YouTube.
On Monday, FamilySearch, a non-profit organization sponsored by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints began providing genealogy-related videos.
According to a FamilySearch statement, the organization has always used the latest technology to help people learn more about their ancestors.
Now, videos described as both fun and inspirational are available for all family history buffs from the rookie to the seasoned veteran.
For those new to family research, a series called “Genealogy in 5 minutes,” shows how to get started. The “Woven Generations” playlist features powerful stories of people connecting with their family heritage.
Additionally, videos in the “Genealogical Societies and Archives” playlist show how FamilySearch works with genealogical societies and archives to provide access to more records online and further interest in family history research.
