Zoom and Genealogy presentations

As a result of the global coronavirus pandemic, the way humans interact with each other has changed dramatically. Social distancing has motivated people to turn to virtual conferencing applications to replace face-to-face communication. Zoom is one of those apps that has gained popularity within the last few months. It is also useful to genealogists. I’m currently a member of a virtual genealogy group and recently learned Zoom has features I was unaware of. Zoom has a share option that allows you to upload and link PowerPoint presentations viewable by everyone joining in on a conference call. We’ve utilized this option in two of our recent virtual genealogy meetings with great success. With the virus keeping everyone at home and libraries closed until the world normalizes, it’s still possible to network with other genealogists and present valuable information useful for our research. Zoom can be downloaded for free on  mobile devices and computers. If you want to learn how to upload presentations to Zoom, follow this link below:

Stay safe and best of luck!
