Have you ever discovered unidentified and undated photographs in your genealogical research?
Do you need clues to help in identifying the origins of your photos or at least a possible date? There is a strategy I use through using google where you can search images you have either saved to your computer or found online.Step 1:
Go to Google.com and click the image tab on the upper right side
Step 2:
Click on the icon of a black camera on the left side.
Step 3:
A search by image tab comes up that gives you the option of either uploading an image or past an image URL in the search box.
Step 4:
Upload your image or URL into the box and click search image.
Step 5:
Once you do that, google will search the internet for either the exact image you uploaded or images that are closer to it.
I have used this method to verify the authenticity of photographs as well as getting clues to what time period or type of photograph an image is. You can upload family photographs or other images to have google search them.
