Sue directed the meeting:
-(MH) Staff Ice Breaker to help us all get to know each other better personally. When asked to identify three characteristics about herself, Sue chose caring, listener, and goofy. Rodney chose creative, genuine, and funny. Other staff answered various questions about work preferences.
-(SB) 5 Minute Resource Sharing: Effective Searching in the HPL Catalog (handout provided)
-(SK) CE Managers Meeting Notes: brief discussion about printing needs; if we have any printed materials such as pedigree charts that need to be translated into other primary languages (Spanish, French, Vietnamese, Chinese) let Sue know. Also if we are running out of any of our regular Print Shop materials. Be sure to read the CE Managers Meeting Notes when you get them in your email.
-(MH) A new Extended Loan Family Search printout has been created and will be added to the notebook at the Clayton House. List is in Film # order and then by title. There was some discussion about how best to keep this list updated going forward.
-(SK) FY17 materials budget is down significantly; we must be more selective on what we order, there will be less emphasis on social histories and more on our core genealogical focus; also, the continuing education budget is reduced as well - if you are planning to go to any conferences that require travel/lodging expenses be sure to talk to Sue about it and have an estimate prepared of the required expenses; also continue to look for webinars and other free online training opportunities
-Section Updates
(FS) - microfilm box replacement underway, need to order more 35mm boxes
(IW) - catalog reconciliation in progress by Patti and Margie (involves adjusting call numbers in cataloging and removing Dewey numbers); Joy has re-organized the Mexico section to have the country divide alphabetically by state like Canada does
